Today I will be reviewing Melissa Lander's Alienated. [SURPRISE AT THE BOTTOM]
Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.
Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.
Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.
But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.
Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

Okay. This was a good book. Like it was bomb. The character development was very well written. The plot-mm. So unique. I did feel like the relationship was a bit rushed but i'm not a patient person. There was enough drama happiness for me forget about it for a moment and the relationship between Aelyx and Cara just made me a jumpy fangirl. [Aren't we all] Let's talk about some parts.
Tori being a B and Diva [ A reasonable B and Diva ]: Okay I was kinda freaking out when Tori said [something like] "It's between me and him." I guess it's kind mean for her to just leave because Tori didn't like Cara's friends.
Eric and Tori getting together: NO-just-ju-NO
Aelyx and Cara's kiss: This part was so special. I love how they got into as a test. It was so funny because Aelyx looked up how to kiss before he did.
Escaping to L'eihr: Ohhh the fight was epic! I never thought would be the big problem. He was going to kill Aelyx. He was going to hurt Cara.
So I thought this book was very exciting from the beginning. We find out Cara has to "babysit" and alien and now I'm just like " O.O What happens?" That's what gets readers to keep reading. The suspense. If your story had little to know suspense then it's going to be very hard to keep reading. This book had suspense. part of it was the fact the Aelyx was doing wrong things to earth throughout the book. That just keeps adding to the suspense because we all want to know. The characters were just...different. You've got your main character who want to get into college. Then you have the dare-devil best friend. Your quickly getting popular- boyfriend. Then a mysterious person!! [Love interest!!]
This book was so well written and the writer knows exactly what she is doing. The ending!! AHHH. Cara is staying on L'eihr and Aelyx is going back to earth! [ great right when everything was going great for Cara and Aelyx relationship!]
Predictions: Marcus is going to slaughter Aelyx. We will see Tori and Eric. SOMETHING HORRIBLE IS GOING TO HAPPEN TO CARA I CAN FEEL IT. Tori is definitely going to miss Cara.

Q+A With the Author!! [Melissa Landers]
So I asked Melissa Landers some questions and here they are!
1. What gave you the idea of Alienated?
I was driving down the interstate, trying to come up with a story idea for NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) when I suddenly thought, "What if a high school girl had to host an alien exchange student?" That's when Alienated was born.
2. If you were to choose 2 characters to survive with you in a zombie apocalypse who would you bring?
Any fictional characters? I'd choose Katniss from "The Hunger Games" and Daryl from "The Walking Dead," because they could help keep me alive. They've got skills!
3.How much of the book is realistic? (Happened in real life)
Well, none of my novel has happened in real life. It's fiction. But I do believe that humans would behave that way if the events of Alienated ever came to pass. People aren't very nice to each other now, so why would an alien race fare any better?
4. Did you ever have a writer's block? If you did, when?
Sometimes, yes. I can usually unblock myself by taking a walk or a quiet drive.
5. What part did you most enjoy writing? Why?
I think my favorite part of Alienated to write was the scene where Aelyx and Cara compare kissing and sh'ellam. That was fun. :)
